Our Bible college in Uganda is progressing well on the beautiful five-acre plot God provided for us during lockdown. Hedley and Maureen Quinton and I visited in September 2022, the first visit from UK team members, and we bring a great report.

The land itself is superb. It is about 25km from Kampala city, sitting atop a hill with glorious views and a regular cool breeze. It is lush land, with Matoke trees on two sides and a Catholic school on the other.

The purchase of the land, planning of the site and first stage of building have been seamless, even if from a desktop sitting in an office somewhere in Norfolk. We have an excellent team in Uganda, Freddier and Alex, with others close by: Eva, Deborah, David … to mention just some. These guys have been awesome! They carry our heart for The Way of the Spirit and the college, and own the whole thing as much as anyone could.

There have been one or two challenges which we are currently navigating, but the work has not been held up. A worship hall is nearing completion, the kitchen and dining room is not far behind, and the (first) dormitory has its foundations laid. Eventually there will be more accommodation, an admin block, and a number of circular shelters for The Way of the Spirit groups. Then to finish, UK accommodation, landscaping and trees!

This is of course a massive faith challenge! We know this is God’s vision not ours, we know it is the people who will come – and not the buildings themselves – that is the vital thing happening here, and we know he will provide! How? … well that’s another question. We are so grateful for the faithful givers who have got us this far and we look to God alone for the funds to bring it all to completion.

We are forming plans to begin teaching there soon, and have submitted an exciting syllabus to the Ugandan authorities, made up of the rich and full The Way of the Spirit material we have produced over the years. This will allow a Diploma to be awarded by us, something that is being newly demanded by the government of all pastors and leaders of churches. Teams of teachers and others have been and are continuing to be equipped and trained here, and eventually will be there too. It is a miraculous work, provided miraculously and about to produce miraculous fruit. God will bring many from Uganda as well as surrounding nations. Revival power and fire will be poured into those who he brings, and they will be sent back transformed.
